I've been meaning to do this again for a while, and now that I saw
Michele doing an 80's music lyrics quiz, I figured this'd be the perfect time.
What is it? Well, it's another rendition of... the world's hardest lyrics quiz. You'll probably have to actually sing these out loud to get them. Why? Because these aren't exactly "words." Example:
lyric: oh eee oh ee oh
song: well, duh, that's obviously Jungle Love, by Morris Day & the Time
OK, warmed up, now? Ready? (
updated with hints!)
- Boom boom aka laka laka boom, boom boom aka laka boom boom. (everybody already got this one, so I won't bother with hints)
- Do, do doo doo, do, do doo doo, do, do doo doo, do DOO doo doo. (early 90's alternative)
- Na na na nahhh na na... NAH nah. Na na na nahhh na na... nahh nahh. (80's R&B/pop)
- Bah de ah (late 70's/early 80's R&B)
- Nana nah nah nunah nah... nana nah nah nunah. (90's Dance/Pop/R&B))
- Oy. Oy. Oy. Oy. OY. OY! OY! OY! (70's Rock)
- Da ba dee, da ba dahhh, da ba DEEE, da ba dahhh, Da ba dee, da ba dahhh, da ba DEEE, da ba dahhh. (90's Dance)
- nahhh NAHHHH nana na nahhh, nana na nahh nanana na nahhh (80's Pop/Rock)
- hah hahah HAAAAAAAAAh hah (80's love song)
OK, that mighta been kinda tough, especially since onomatopoeia are sometimes hard to type out. So, here are two easy ones. "Baby" ones, if you will.
Bah bababah, bah bababah baby.
Baybayyyyyeeeeyayyyyyyeeeyayyyy.
Now, don't be discouraged if you don't get any. I mean, hell, some of those things are just hard to spell out, yanno?
OK, fine, fine. If this was too tough, go on and do
Michele's Quiz.

just so's people know, #8 is
not Hey Jude. in fact, Hey Jude is not represented on here at all, and I don't think it ever will be.
I'm an Elvis man, not a Beatles man.

I think I've got
#4 (September - Earth Wind & Fire) and #8 (Here Comes the Hotstepper - Ini Kamoze)
But I could be totally wrong.

4. September by Earth, Wind, & Fire!
I heart that song.

Mikey, this is impossible. You cannot just go nanana nah, and figure out a song. We need notes for that to work! Or some other musical representation.
And another thing? How can you not like the Beatles? Obviously, #8 is not Hey Jude because you said it was an 80s Pop/Rock song. But how can you dis my boys? They were truly great! Elvis rocked too, in the early days, but not so much in the end. I can see your attraction to him, but I am here to defend John, Paul, George and Ringo. They rock my world.

Okay, I think #1 is that Walk the Dinosaur. #2 is that Cranberries song...which one though? Sings it to self...Ode to my Family? That Oy! Oy! song is some AC/DC song. And that Dabadee, dabada song...does that actually HAVE a name? The rest I have no idea.

What is # 7 ?? I can visualize the girl singing it, but I can't recall the song's title. It was a black girl, right ?
# 8 is Centerfold by J.Geils Band, methinks.
Posted by on 04/12 at 03:42 PM
# 2 - Semi-Charmed Life - Third Eye Blind ?
# 6 - TNT - AC/DC
# 9 - True - Spandex Ballet

Britney will have her young 'un wearing thong diapers !

Oh my god, I suck at this! Is it because I can't sing? Even when I try to sing the songs people are guessing, it still doesn't work.
