If you don’t feel like going to read the article, I’ll give you the gist:  guy is walking around with a burrito.  Two guys ask him if they can have a bite.  THE GUY SAYS YES.

Now seriously…  who in the hell gives a stranger a bite of his burrito?  Anyone?  Anyone?

So, he hands over the burrito, and the two guys just start walking off.  When the first guy asked for his burrito back, the two guys beat him up.

So let’s talk about how much of an asshole you must be if you ask a stranger for a bite of his food, he gives it to you, and you steal it from him and then beat the shit out of him for asking for it back… W.  T.  F.

Seriously.  How many guys would give up their food to a stranger like that?  One out of a thousand?  Ten thousand?  And they reward that inexplicably generous gesture by just stealing it!  And then beating the guy up!  That’s just fucked up.

Today, I want to talk about appearances. People are so wrapped up in how they think something should look that they disregard things that don’t match that preconceived notion. Example: American flag pins. Why must everyone running for any office wear one? It used to be that you didn’t have to. But now, there’s this perception that you’re not a patriot if you don’t wear one. Why? Why can’t we choose a candidate on, say, his voting record? Or job performance?  Those would definitely be much better barometers for choosing a candidate.  ANYBODY can put on a flag pin and claim to be a patriot.  Give me someone who’s a proven leader and who shows me they care about making this country a better place instead of just getting themselves (and their friends) rich.

Really?

The only reason that you’ve never heard of anybody great to come out of the 1% is because you don’t know shit.  Henry Ford, who invented cars which allow you to drive away?  Not a one percenter.  Look at everything that was invented/discovered.  Isaac Newton.  Not a one percenter.  Galileo Galilei.  Not a one percenter.  Martin Luther King Jr.  Not a one percenter.  Steve Jobs.  Ended up rich, but didn’t start as a one percenter.

Now, sure, all of those people don’t currently live in the US.  My point is, rich assholes are almost never the ones to come up with anything truly great.  Of course, his standard of “great” probably means “makes the most money”.  His “great” doesn’t help the world.  But true greatness comes from everywhere, even the 99 percent.  Especially from the 99 percent.  What have YOU done that’s truly great, sir?

This guy acts like old royalty.  Probably born into wealth, given every opportunity to succeed handed to him on a silver platter.  Thinks he’s God’s gift to the world because he’s rich.  Hate to tell you, dude.  Your “money” is all fake.  It’s all electronic.  If the Earth was hit by an EMP, your wealth means jack shit.  What are your survival skills?  Can you build anything?  Fuck no.  You just know how to manipulate arbitrary figures.  Big fucking deal.

I dunno.  I just hate all these rich jerks who keep saying “Get off your ass and get a job” on one hand, while with the other, they’re doing everything in their power to keep everybody else down.  To make rules so the rest of us can’t find a decent job.  Assholes.

They’re nice enough to give me the day after Christmas off, but if I want to take Christmas Day off, I have to use my paid time off.  Or, I could volunteer to work.

Same goes for New Year’s.  I work New Year’s Eve.  If I want New Year’s Day off, then I have to use paid time off.  Oh, but I get Monday, 1/02 off.

Whoopie!  I get Monday, December 26th off!  And January 2nd off!  Thanks so much, big company.  I didn’t need that paid time off, anyways (note:  sick time and floating holidays also count as PTO, so basically, I’m having to forego some sick time just to get Christmas and New Year’s off).

Some people would say “You’re lucky you even have a job.”  Fuck them.  They probably all have Christmas and New Year’s off.  Paid.

You what makes me sad sometimes (well, ONE of the things)? When I accidentally see what’s trending worldwide on Twitter.

No, seriously.

I mean, the internet is a wondrous thing… we’re able to share information to the world instantly!  That’s just awesome!  And we can share ideas and insights and apply them to things that we didn’t think they’d apply to… take, for example, this story: Gamers Decode AIDS Protein That Stumped Researchers For 15 Years In Just 3 Weeks. That’s incredible! (The article has been updated to add that really, it only took them 10 days. TEN FREAKING DAYS)  That’s just… wow!

And then, you look at Twitter.  What’s trending on Twitter?  Now, this list isn’t as bad as what was trending a while ago, but come on; #IGetRealMadWhen ? #TheresNoWayInHell ? THIS is what people are talking about, worldwide?

So, I’ve had a Flickr account for a few years now (2005), and while I’m not using it as much as I used to, I still manage to check in there every once in a while. Plus, I have to finish my Domo Project sometime…

Anyways, so my friend Michele tweeted that her most viewed photo on Flickr is a picture of French Toast. So that got me wondering… what’s my most viewed photo of? Well, if you know me, then you know the answer is pretty easy – my most viewed photo, nay, my top ten just HAS to be something porn related. So for me, the real question is… what’s my most viewed photo that has nothing to do with porn?

What I found out made me laugh… because it’s sad. Sad for me, sad for you, sad for society in general. But it’s funny. So let me throw you some stats:

My top viewed photo: Isabella Soprano. Not a bad choice, people.

My highest ranking photo (views) unrelated to porn? #166 – my friend Stacy showing off her (back then, still in style) Uggs.

The highest ranking photo with me in it? #2 – me, with Taylor Rain. My highest ranking with no pornstar? #190 – me at The Brookfield Zoo. For reference, that #190 ranks well below Domo’s first appearance at #179. And if you think that’s funny, we both rank below #172, a vagina shaped pillow and #177, a sign at a balloon fetish booth. Not of goings-on at the booth… just a picture of the sign.

The highest ranking picture of Joelle and me together is #188. The highest ranking picture of Joelle by herself is #189. Both still rank above my #190, but we’re all below this urinal cake at #183.
